Hi
I'm going to be out of town until the end of next week, so I'll take a closer look then.
The point merge routings for westerly operations in the simulation don't reflect the 'sequencing arcs' as published because, having watched hours of played back EIDW arrivals on flightradar24, I've yet to see arrivals from the north being positioned to intercept the ILS from the south - and vice-versa - as published in the Irish AIP. One of the problems with incorporating these routings is that the AI will ALWAYS use them irrespective of traffic levels. Not a problem if you're working DUBAP - you can just issue a short cut routing. But for every other sector it becomes unnecessarily elaborate - particularly when working the Dublin final approach position. Also, the AI conflict recognition and conflict resolution features that are a fundamental part of LC are likely to be triggered by aircraft flying at similiar altitudes in opposite directions to each other in close proximity with unpredictable and probably unwanted results. These things have to be taken into consideration in putting something like Dublin approach together.
LC is a great simulation, but it does have its little quirks - especially with approach sectors.
Phil, thanks for your input, it is appreciated.
