RMA for only active sector

I'm currently controlling SSDIR but I'm seeing RMA boundaries for GW and LL, is there any way to disable these and only show SS' boundary or set them to a different colour?

Hiya

The RMA’s are either all displayed, or not displayed at all. You can choose between Easterly and Westerly. You can tweak the colours in the ‘preference’ menu.

That is the Stansted RMA. So you don’t have that on your screen? If so, that is one for the LC team. I am not able to have a look at the data files myself on my laptop at the moment, sorry. Might need a tweak in the data for update 2408.

I have something that has vague resemblance to that. It's the Stansted RMA but split up into sections that don't seem to collerate to the RMA areas (unless I'm missing something), and also doesn't cover the full area of the RMA, as it does on the video. I've tried checking both RMA West and RMA East in the Display settings but doesn't seem to change anything.

Yes your screenshot isn't showing the whole RMA as contained in the latest files 2407. Please confirm you are running the latest files.
The current RMA stretches further north and east now.

As for seeing both SS and GW RMA's...and if you zoom out LL too...that's currently working as programmed.

IMO the "Controlled Sector Bdry" layer for these approach sectors (range rings) are not really any use. I could look at making the Controlled Sector Bdry purely the RMA for the sector involved...thus giving you the option of displaying just the relevant RMA...or all RMAs if "RMA West/East" is selected.

What are the thoughts of the users?

The greenish is the outline of the RMA. The little blocks are all the different bits od CTA/TMA/CTR etc. Each bit has it’s own base of CAS. Are you able to post a screenshot of what you have?

It’s been a while since I have seen the real maps at TC (before the new GW airspace was introduced), but that looks about right to me. SS and GW RMA are more or less adjacent in the LOREL area.
Maybe he LC team can provide more details?

CloggyUk Out of pure interest, in the real world in TC land, is that the case Cloggy? All on or none on the display?

I suppose the real world sectors may be a bit more IT savvy?

JSJ not sure I understand your question completely. I think you refer to all or none of the RMAs. I don’t know tbh. But imagine every controller has their own bit of airspace displayed. There are maps on the consoles, but as I said, been a while since I have been there for a visit.

Dave In my view range rings are not very useful as they center on the airport, whilst vectoring to 8-10 nm final. I leaned it the old fashion pen/range way to workout distance from touchdown. But that can really only be explained in a video with moving pictures I think. Having the RMA as sector boundaries would be a better solution in my view.

Thanks for the reply - yes this was my fault, turns out I was using files from 2014 haha.
As for the Controlled Sector Bdry, I think that'd be a welcome change. I don't currently use the range rings whatsoever.
