S13

Hi Guys,

When you are controlling S13, is it their responsibility as well to already try to get a nice "string of pearls" into Heathrow? (For arrivals into Heathrow I mean of course). Or are headings to keep them separated sufficient to transfer them to the next sector.

I hope you understand what I mean, and looking forward to your replies.

Hello.
You don’t have to if it is not specified in the sector manual. (I think this is in the process of being updated by the London Control people.)
However, it doesn’t mean you can’t! But if there is holding going at Lam it is not always useful, as they’ll all end up going around in circles ( technically racetracks 😋). Further, if you as S13 stream them, it might not be worth it if underlying sectors (S14 & Jacko) have to sequence in more traffic that is not known to you. One option to partially avoid that is bandbox S13/14. Last but not least, the AI speed control is far from perfect. So you stream them, then the next sectors muddle them up again….
On the plus side, streaming them can improve your skills!

Thanks for your answer! Sounds indeed as not very useful, and it gives you more work in an already busy sector.
I will let the approach guys do the streaming ;-)
