Understanding STAFA gate

Hello,

I'm trying to make sure I understand the gate mentioned in the STAFA documentation:

Traffic departing Manchester (EGCC) and Liverpool (EGGP) requesting FL200 or higher should be positioned by Stafa Sector to the west of Honiley, making use of the airspace extension to the west of L15 and L151. Traffic should be positioned within a ‘gate’ from 6NM west of Honiley to 2NM from the western edge of controlled airspace.

I've attempted to draw what I think are the east/west boundaries of this gate using the range tool, have I understood correctly?

AlexChesters I think that looks right from that text. Where is that info from?

That gate is likely there to ensure that it doesn't interfere with Heathrow, Stansted and Luton traffic descending to the east of Honiley - can anyone confirm?

JSJ It's from the sector information manual shipped with London Control, in the STAFA documentation

AlexChesters Is it? The old London Control sector manual from back in the day? I'll give it a re-read.

Keep in mind that the old sector information manual could well be outdated in many areas by now, we have been upsetting the sim since June 2023 and a lot has changed since then!
