Calculating traffic rates on our own, how?

Hi all,
I know that Graham in the past has very kindly given on-the-day realistic traffic rates for LC and various sectors when asked.

My question: not another 'what is it on this sector today', but is there a way of the average user calculating this roughly themselves for a certain TC or ACC sector/area on a certain day by -say- observing Flight Radar 24 or similar, or is that knowledge gleaned from insider info / software / tools only?

Hi, I have access to Eurocontrol FPL data, so one day when I was bored, I calculated the rate for the UK airspace depending on the time. I can do it and make stats per sector so you can choose the sector you want depending on the time of day. I don't have data on the maximum capacity per sector, so I can't tell what is the limit of aircraft for a group to be split.

I'll post the spreadsheet here this evening

Max sector capacities can be interrogated; if you let me know which specific sectors you want, I can extract that information. I won't be doing it for all sectors though... that would be a mammoth task, especially where maximums are dynamic, as they are for some sectors.

Sector load for all AC and TC for the 19th Sep 25
Bold line a for sectorgroup, and thin lines for individual sectors

Below approximative rate in flight/minutes:
0000-0200: 2
0300: 3
0400: 4
0600-1500: oscilating between 9 and 10, peaking at 11
1600-2300: reducing to 3 (loosing 1 per hour)

Depending on if you want to simulate a summer day, I think you can increase by 1 or 2 but not higher, unless you want to specificly try overloaded sectors.
