Since we took over from DM Aviation in January 2024, there have been fifteen forum threads about speech recognition, multiplayer, and Discord server, each containing multiple posts.
We have also received numerous emails about these subjects, and we have responded to each post and email in turn.
We are a team of just three people with our own vocational and domestic commitments. We try to maintain the simulator and attend to the forum and emails, alongside other things, in as timely a fashion as we are able.
With the number of posts concerning the subjects noted, we must draw the line somewhere to avoid duplication and repetition. We relegate all answered threads and emails to an archive; nothing is ever deleted.
We will be updating the landing page of the website shortly to accommodate a single point of reference with answers for each of the topics in question.
In summary, speech recognition is currently being worked on with a view to releasing something that is not financially burdensome, because any costs incurred would likely be passed on to users. As we have said before, we want to keep London Control as affordable as possible.
The simulator from it's first days over 20 years ago was never designed as a multiplayer simulation and we have no plans to make it such either now or in the future.
We also have no plans to introduce Discord server, because when we surveyed the options for doing so, we received expressions of interest of less than 2 per cent, meaning it would not be worthwhile.
We appreciate everyone's support of London Control, perhaps the longest standing air traffic control simulator of its kind.
