Previous sectors failing to deliver an ordered and separated sequence

Hi, while recently controlling as heathrow final i have noticed quite a few times that as soon as traffic slightly picks up the ai controlled directors N and Sounth, sometimes fail to hand over the aircraft correctly separated and sequenced causing separation incidents that are then reported as my mistakes when closing the session. This is particularly annoying considering i can't really do anything about it.

AlexdAviator In my experience it’s usually better to combine LL North, South, and Final directors with a lower flow rate than to control LLFIN on its own.

In real life all the controllers involved will be aware of a defined order of landing aircraft and will co-ordinate their aircraft accordingly. In the sim the AI works more independently and, consequently, I have found when it gets busy the north or south director can send aircraft down the ILS bypassing LLFIN entirely.

Easier to combine for me. Happens all the time at quieter times of the day anyway.

FewCloudy I thought it was only me, could you find a way to make the ai better at co ordination or better add multiplayer so we can co ordinate and not have the ai mess up our scores without bandboxing int

Nothing I can do I’m afraid as a lowly customer but I suspect this boils down to a realistic flow rate for a single controller at LLFIN within the confines of the sim.

In the real world if Heathrow director gets backed up with traffic then the approach controllers would fill the holds (LAM, BNN, OCK, BIG) and then subsequent outer holds would be used. Realistically flow rates could then be adjusted and slots issued, which in the sim isn’t possible, so if a sector becomes overloaded at a particular time the best course of action would be to try again with a lower flow rate.

There’s a reason AI will never take over real-world human beings and it is simply because it’s not as good and never will be!
