bedsdrout what you are suggesting here was done some time ago for two simulators, ATCC & ATC Simulator 2. The first one was not supporting any speech recognition why the second one had the similar problem like London control.
Solution came from the community where a very tiny piece of software created by one of the simulator users, DW lang where he implemented a smart approach by creating a session specific grammar files to increase the success rate of recognition after flight plans in that session specific and all the sector specific procedures and we points, so instead of make the speech recognition attempt to recognize from a very wide pool of waypoint procedures and flight plans, now it is way more limited which increased the success rate of recognition.
another aspect helped the success of the tool which named "ATC Listener" is the fact there is an option to interact by keyboard typing, actually in the case of ATCC it was the only way, so the tool was doing the recognition part and send the created command as if it is created by keyboard, and here I think the problem will be if there is a chance to implement a such solution is that the LC is mouse based, and so it is mandatory from the creators to share an api or such interface if they are seeking for a cheaper solution that can come from the fans for maybe free copies or free updates or whatever can be agreed on which I believe can be almost free.
a such approach from the fan base might be the best due to the understanding of the simulator in the first place.
I hope they see this post and reconsider this approach to solve this annoying problem in a such nice simulator.
