Graham There a few ways they give the command for leaving the holds.
Sometimes it’s a basic “Leave LAM heading 270 degrees” without even mentioning the cancellation of the hold.
Completing the hold is usually either “Complete the pattern then leave heading 270 degrees” or “Next time over LAM leave heading 270 degrees.”
Cutting the hold short is usually (tries to remember hold direction) “Turn left back to LAM to leaving heading 270 degrees.”
..and the one I really hate, though quite rare, is “Turn left back to LAM, complete one left hand orbit then leave heading 270 degrees.”
