Good day London Control user!
2024
We are fast approaching Christmas and with it, the end of this year’s London Control updates. We hope you continue to enjoy the sim and have kept your edition up to date, the latest version for 2024 being AIRAC 2411, which includes AIRAC 2412.
The future of London Control
We will maintain London Control throughout 2025 and have a number of things planned, including SID truncations, STAR amendments (including some withdrawals and additions), enhanced departure procedures (LAMP2), route realignments at the FIR boundary, and 500ft increments below 4000ft for approach sectors. We also have EGJJ CTR to produce after it was voted for by you, the users! (The full results of the poll can be found at https://forum.londoncontrol.com/d/144-new-sector-preference/3). We are also pursuing improvements to the sound/voice recognition system, but the options we have found so far are financially prohibitive and we do not want to pass those costs on, so we are continuing to look for a suitable alternative. We are also updating the sector manual, a project that we started earlier this year, but which has been delayed due to our individual domestic and vocational commitments. The list is not exhaustive and there may be further enhancements as the year progresses that have not yet been published in advance.
2025
For 2025, we will maintain the sim in line with each AIRAC cycle, but unlike 2024, we will publish the updates quarterly instead of monthly. Each update will be cumulative, so nothing will be missed and there will always be updated flight plans alongside infrastructure amendments. If there are any immediate changes to facilitate along the way, these will be published at the time. There is no change to how London Control will be maintained except that publication will, for the main part, be quarterly.
Rising costs
When we took over London Control at the start of this year, we committed to maintaining the price as it was when DM Aviation supplied it. There has never been a price increase, and we have kept it at the same level it was 20 years ago. (If we had put prices up, today it would cost between £60 and £70!) Regrettably, increased internet hosting costs and PayPal charges mean we have no option other than to, reluctantly, raise our prices for the first time.
PRICE FREEZE
For a LIMITED TIME ONLY we are keeping the existing price of £39.95 for the base installer and AIRAC updates, and £36.95 for AIRAC updates, for the 2025 session. But this is only until 31st December 2024, so shop early for Christmas and take advantage of the price freeze!
2025 prices
From 1st January 2025, the cost for the base installer and AIRAC updates will be £43.95 and the cost for AIRAC updates will be £40.65.
We hope you will continue to support London Control: the most authentic ATC simulator of its kind. From the three of us at New London Control, we send Christmas greetings and wish you skilful controlling!
Yours,
Graham, Dave and Kieran
