Is the German FIR still available...?
Is the Dutch FIr still available...?
It has been a long time out so totally lost.
Is the LC purchase download now integrated with voice recognition?
When I was last involved it was a seperate module and rather tricky...but eventually managed about a 98% hit rate on a session.

Not as far as we know. All contact has been lost with the original author.

Is the Dutch FIr still available...?
Yes but this is not maintained by the current LC team, thus it is outdated.

We are currently working on an extensive enhancement and hope to have an upgraded VOX module with the AIRAC update in September 2025.

Hi, I've started to look again in sector creation and I started Maastricht Center (MUAC)
So I'm a bit familiar with Netherland airspace. Plus I have some tools to extract Navadata and convert to ease navdata implementation. Maybe I can work on updating Dutch FIR Navdata 🙂

Martin if ever you get any information about or contact with the original author of Germany FIR, please let us know. It would be good to re-establish contact and see if we could collaborate on updating Germany FIR as part of London Control.

Through the "About us" and a quick linkedin search you will easily identify the former developer of the wonderfull germany FIR. I do not have any direct links towards Andreas, sent a mail to the Aviascan adress some 2 or 3 years back w/o response.

If you'll manage to update all sectors (changes since 2010!!") and add some recent flight plans this will buy you a lot of coffees, Athos!

Martin for the FPL part, i'll try my best, but yes it will take some time, especially since MUAC has changed, CEL sector is way smaller now and new sector were added in the north (JEV/HOL). As I don't have that much knowledge sectors other than MUAC in this area, I think I'll try to work with the IVAO/VATSIM LoA for the XFL file, they're really close to the IRL ones.

The navdata in itself should be quick, but it's the drawing of all map file that will take some time, I'll keep you updated

I created a tiny github repo for the German FIR so I can work on it anywhere:

It will allow you to see the progress of the update.
By the way, feel free to make a pull request to contribute if you want (especially the FPL/RPL/Airline/Coded ini files), it will speed up the update.

@Athos this is really exciting stuff! Going with VATSIM should indeed bring you as close as possible.

Day 3 of working on it:

all map files have been updated for EDGG/EDWW/EDUU/EDYY with the exception of approaches, because their split are not published in eAIP and be manually edited later
I tried creating a quick preset in a few minutes that would look like current iCAS system in EDUU/EDGG/EDMM just to see how it would look. Already a few software limitation were detected for the label colors.

Upcoming next week:

EDMM map file
Sectors.ini update (frequency to 8.33kHz for a lot of sector) and some sector deleted/added since last AIRAC
Navdata update to AIRAC 2508
