crazy speeds

i had a seperation issue the other day which i had to get rid of and quick so i made the plane go 470 kts at fl80 which is not only completely unrealistic due to performance but is also way too fast. i know you cant in depth simulate max speeds for aircraft but please tune it down a bit for realism

In order to look into reports about any issues, could you please include as much as you can remember from the following in your forum posts:

Sector(s) controlled:
Start time of exercise:
Time anomaly spotted:
Exercise number:
Rate set:
Westerlies or Easterlies:
NAT Central, North or South:
AIRAC version:

When starting LC, under the 'exercise' drop down menu it shows the last exercises you have run.
Any screenshots are most likely helpful as well, so feel free to include these if you can.
This is for any technical glitches, odd behaving traffic, and anything else you want to highlight to the LC team.

470?? Wow! As you say unrealistic, but a controller would never assign that. Just like you would not climb a B737 to FL510. Both, 470kts and FL510 are technically possible, hence they are coded into LC.

Without knowing the exact traffic situation, something must have gone wrong there obviously. Most likely in the vectoring somewhere? The general practice is that you use vectors to create the separation between aircraft and use speed control to maintain it.

Also, the speed limit below FL100 is 250kts. I know controllers sometimes waive it, but mainly for departures. Besides, airlines don’t want their pilots to fly fast, as that costs fuel, and they want to use less of it!
